I first saw John over 20 yrs ago for lower back pain that I'd had for 18 months, with restricted movement, pain & discomfort.

Thoracic/Neck/Shoulder Pain
I suffered from what I call 'Dentist's neck & shoulder'.......pain in the neck &shoulders as well as mid back pain,
a condition that seems prevalent amongst my profession.
My symptoms had been bothering me off & on for years but had worsened over a couple of months
Bowen therapy helped my right shoulder but the other symptoms persisted.

I had dealt with a painful neck for 5 years and seen numerous practitioners in order to relieve the discomfort it was giving me. I would get temporary mild relief but it always came back.

Headaches for many years, moderate response to chiropractic, little effect from physical therapy.
I suffered from a daily headache for about three months before seeing John Baijal for treatment. While I was not in extreme pain at any point, the constant ache of the headache would put me in bed for at least some of each day, and sometimes I was there all day. I had trouble getting to sleep at night because of the pain and regular pain medication did little to ease it. My husband took an extended period of time off work to look after our two young children when I could not. After about two or three weeks of seeing John for treatment, my headaches slowly started to improve both in frequency and intensity. I continued to improve all the time over the next 5 months. While I'm still not 100%, my husband has returned to work and I can go about almost all of the daily activities I used to do - I just just take life a little slower at the moment! My children are especially happy to have their mum up and doing things again. NECK PAIN/HEADACHES

I had severe neck pain & spasms for 3 months which continued worsening inspite of 8 physical therapy sessions and chiropractic treatment.
If I bent my neck backwards it felt like it was breaking, & both my work & driving a car were difficult.

GENERAL PAIN

One year after neck surgery, an accident left me with severe pain in my neck, the left side of my back, shoulder and different spots throughout the spine. Before the accident, I was an avid pickle ball player and due to the constant pain and getting worse when I played, I stopped. I had bad pain when I walked, when I sat longer then 15 minutes, when I stood for long like cooking and my back and shoulder hurt bad after reading, being on the computer or sewing. When I got up from a sitting position, it took several minutes before straightening up and the pain to subside; however, the pain was always present. I had cervical facet injections, thoracic injections and lower back injections. I had other therapies like Airrosti, Chiropractor, pain medicine, ointments etc. These things temporarily work for me. Last October, my Orthopedic surgeon stated that the only thing left for me was to have surgery throughout my back.
I started treatment with John at the Manual Medicine Clinic, in December 2020. After 3 treatments, my husband began to notice that I could get up from a sitting position without being hunched over. I noticed the pain was not present all the time. My sleep was much better.
After 2 months of treatments, I am doing well now. I have played pickle ball a few times already and the pain is not there. I feel a little soreness for a little while and it goes away. I am walking three miles and there’s no lingering pain. I can cook a whole meal without the constant pain in my back and neck and not having to lie down to feel relief in the middle of cooking. I sleep through the night. I thank John so much for the great job of putting me back together. The treatment is great and I recommend it to any one who has pain anywhere in their body. SHOULDER PAIN
About a year ago I was diagnosed with a torn tendon in my right shoulder. I saw an orthopaedic surgeon who was going to operate on my shoulder.
My husband asked me to go to John for a second opinion. I'm so glad I did!
For the year prior to seeing John, I could not do any of the following without pain:
Lift anything away from my body or above my shoulders
Push anything with moderate force
And, most importantly, could not swing a golf club properly, as each swing caused pain.

I had severe head & jaw problems/pain on an intermittent basis for 15 years.
At night I would clamp my jaw during sleep, which resulted in cracked teeth that had to be extracted....very painful & very expensive.
I could not yawn too wide or bite into an apple or larger peices of food. my jaw would almost lock resulting in severe earache & facial pain.
My dentist made me a splint to wear at night....most uncomfortable & it didn't solve the problem.

Unexplained Tooth Pain

I experienced strong throbbing pain in an upper tooth around a crown.
My dentist couldn't find any problem and suggested a root canal.
Pain killers only gave partial and temporary relief.
I had previously experienced good results with John's treatment on my back and neck, and when he suggested trying treatment for my tooth, I said "Dr you can fix my back, but my TOOTH I doubt it!!!"

Traumatic Head Injury

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)

I developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome after a wine bottle fell on my foot, 1.5 yrs ago.

Fibromyalgia

A few years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had ongoing soreness and felt miserable. I didn't expect much when I went to the Manual Medicine Clinic. However, after 4-5 treatments, which were very gentle, I noticed my muscles were getting less sensitive. By about 2-3 months later, after 12 or so treatments, my pain had almost 'magically' disappeared and my head felt much clearer. Knee Pain
Several years ago I was referred to Dr. John Baijal for treatment on a very sore neck. The relief was almost instantaneous.
In 2012 I had problems in my right knee. It was stiff and very sore. I walked with a limp, climbed stairs with difficulty and even found driving very uncomfortable. The pain was quite severe and occurred in and around the knee, very often disturbing sleep. While nursing the pain I tended to weigh more on the left leg as a result of which the left knee became sore too…. Mobility was even more painful and uncomfortable.
I decided to visit Dr John in 2013 and began treatment on my right knee. Initially I went once a fortnight for treatment and could feel the change in about 4 visits. The knee was not as stiff, the pain had subsided and I could walk straight even wearing high heel shoes.
In the meantime, my GP advised an MRI the results of which exposed a few areas of concern such as damaged meniscus, swelling, arthritis, inflammation, cysts etc. the GP recommended that I see an Orthopaedic Specialist stating that surgery may be forthcoming.
I discussed this with Dr. John who was confident that the knees could be treated and made to function properly without any operation.
I trusted John’s professional opinion and surgery was ruled out. I continued with the treatment and even today visit John for maintenance.
John does go the extra mile……
The use of gentle neurological reflexes to alleviate pain & inflammation & restore function is the main ingredient in John’s treatment.

POSTURAL PROBLEMS

I have been seeing Dr Baijal roughly once a month for the last 10 years as maintenance for postural problems and hypermobility/over laxity of joints.

I am an active, 61 year old female who enjoys being busy. I also enjoy gardening but because of increasing neck, back, knee and foot pain over the past couple of years, I was beginning to think my gardening days were over.

I am amazed at how just one course of NCR treatment gave such immediate, lasting relief. The treatment is worth every cent I paid and I plan to have another course of treatment in the near future.
